It would seem that God followed the Passover ritual. It is actually the opposite, God put into place the Passover ritual as a precursor for His coming as Jesus Christ - the innocent lamb, saving of the firstborn from death, the marking of blood on the door, the feasting on the meat of the lamb, the slaughter of the lamb at around 3 pm, the unleavened bread. etc.
Question: Why did you choose the bread to be your flesh and not the lamb served during Passover?
God’s answer:
Meaning: "The Feast of the Unleavened Bread, which is concurrent with Passover, commemorates the fact that Jews had no time for their bread to rise in their haste to leave Egypt."45
You shall eat no leavened bread with it. Seven days you shall eat it with unleavened bread, the bread of affliction—for you came out of the land of Egypt in haste—that all the days of your life you may remember the day when you came out of the land of Egypt. (Deuteronomy 16:3)
As God said, the reason why we should use unleavened bread for the Holy Eucharist is because we celebrate a New Passover. When we eat the Holy Eucharist, we gain and celebrate our freedom.
Question: What does the bread (body) and the wine (blood) mean?
God’s answer:
The wine is Life.
